Comodo EasyVPN - Quick Start Guide

This step-by-step guide shows you how easy it is to get started with Comodo EasyVPN.

Install the software and create an account

  • Firstly, Download the EasyVPN client and follow the simple set-up wizard to install the software on your computer. EasyVPN is available for 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows XP and Vista
  • Next, create an EasyVPN account by clicking 'File > Register a new account' and filling out the short enrollment form:

  • After successful registration you will be able to log into the EasyVPN service and will also be assigned your own static EasyVPN IP address.
  • This address will used by our servers to reference your machine and to establish peer-to-peer connections to other network members.

Create a network

The next step is to create your own network then invite others to join this network.

  • Click 'Networks > Create a new network'

  • Specify a name and access password for your network

Invite others to join your network

  • To invite others to join your VPN, you just need to tell them the name and password of the network you created. The screenshot below shows an example email that you might send:

Joining an existing network

If you want to join an existing network (for example, a network to which you are invited), simply click 'Networks > Join a network'. Then type the network name and the password in the following dialog.

Initiate Secure IM conversations, share files and printers or take remote desktop control of another PC

After logging in:

  • Click the Networks tab to view online contacts
  • Right click on any contact's name
  • Select the appropriate option from the context sensitive menu for starting a chat, obtaining contact details, copying your contacts EasyVPN IP address, initiating remote desktop access etc.
  • Thats it - you are ready to go. Your PC and other members of your VPN are part of a highly secure peer-to-peer network. Your named network and the EasyVPN adapter are also now available in the Windows 'Network and Sharing Center'
